GERRY WEBER "actual winner" in the brand ranking 2009 of the most valuable German brands
 
A study verifies an extraordinary increase in brand equity of GERRY WEBER
 
For 2009, the study has calculated brand equity for GERRY WEBER of 46 million Euros. With this, the company has taken place 44 in brand ranking and has gained two places compared to 2008. Apart from the value enhancement by 5 percent compared to the previous year, the fashion and lifestyle company has, when comparing the last ten years even shown an enhancement by 59 percent. In 1999, the brand equity was recorded with 29 million Euros. Semion general manager Jürgen Kaeuffer characterises GERRY WEBER in the W&V as "a stable fashion brand, steadily conveying quality and trust to its customers".

The reason why GERRY WEBER stands out in the study is also that almost all of the analysed groups have lost brand strength in comparison with the previous year. "In view of the global economic crisis, we are particularly pleased about the good performance of our brand. Over the past years GERRY WEBER has established itself in the upmarket segment due to fashionable collections with appealing design and high perceived value", said the chairman of the board of management, Gerhard Weber.

In the annual study "Semion brand evaluation", executed since 1996, the performance of German brands is surveyed, playing a decisive part in the international competition and which are listed on the stock exchange. Assessment criteria are the five parameters: Financial value (development, profit situation, potential), trademark protection, brand strength and brand image. In this connection, not just the value of the company brand is surveyed, but all brands operating under this umbrella.

As most valuable brand, the Ranking 2009 names die BASF before Bayer and Daimler. As further fashion brands, Adidas ranks (place 14), Puma (31) and Hugo Boss (32) before GERRY WEBER; Escada is listed four places behind (48).
